Happy to share why we launched an evergreen holding company that acquires small to mid-sized family-owned companies from owners seeking a succession or liquidity plan. We buy and forever hold these companies with the intentional to tech-enable them and create an employee-first culture where all workers can truly love their work.

Michael Arrieta is a private equity investor, venture capitalist, and former employee at DocuSign.   He currently serves as the Founder & CEO of Garden City Companies, a purpose-driven holding company that acquires and permanently holds family-owned service companies with the vision of ensuring all workers thrive.    In 2016, Michael and Veronica Arrieta founded MAV Ventures where they’ve now invested in over fifty technology companies such as Impossible Foods, Lime, Salesloft, Tonal, Extend, Unqork, Bolt and others.   Michael was an early employee at DocuSign where he served as Global VP/GM and Chief of Staff to the Chairman/CEO. DocuSign ($DOCU) has now achieved a $50B market cap with 5,000 employees.    Prior he was a leader at Wyse Technology, which sold to Dell in 2012 for $1B+ where he went on to serve as the youngest-ever Chief of Staff.    Michael is the co-founder and Board Director at New Story, a non-profit that has built 2,000+ homes in developing countries and is known for creating the world’s first 3D printed home. In 2016, he was recognized by Forbes as “30 under 30”.    He graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management, lives in Atlanta and has a wife and three children.
